Enrollment, Refund, Transfer, and Rescheduling Policy

BLU STREET ACADEMY

Our Commitment to You

Blu Street Academy plans each class around the candidates who enroll. Your registration allows us to reserve instructors, schedule staff, prepare the classroom, provide learning resources, maintain course systems, and hold a seat specifically for you.

For this reason, we do not base enrollment on money-back offers. We base it on a shared promise: Blu Street Academy will prepare to teach, and each enrolled candidate will prepare to attend and complete the course.

Please review the course schedule carefully before enrolling. Do not register if you are uncertain about your availability or believe that work, transportation, family responsibilities, technology access, or other scheduling concerns may prevent you from attending.

When Your Enrollment Begins

Enrollment begins immediately after payment is completed. Depending on the course, Blu Street Academy may promptly:

  • Reserve your seat;
  • Send course instructions and preparation materials;
  • Provide access to digital course content;
  • Order or assign learning resources;
  • Schedule instructors and support staff; and
  • Begin administrative processing for your class.

Because services, planning, and access to resources begin immediately, course purchases are generally nonrefundable.

Course Transfers

We understand that plans can change. An enrolled candidate may request to transfer the value of an eligible course purchase to another available course date.

A standard transfer request must:

  • Be submitted to Blu Street Academy in writing;
  • Be received before the original course begins;
  • Apply to the same course or another eligible course;
  • Be used within six months of the original course date; and
  • Be limited to one transfer per enrollment.

Transfers are subject to course availability. If the tuition for the new course is higher, the candidate must pay the difference. Selecting a lower-priced course does not automatically create a cash refund or remaining credit.

Course access, books, digital resources, administrative charges, or third-party materials already provided may not be transferable.

Emergencies Affecting a Candidate

Blu Street Academy recognizes that genuine emergencies can occur even when a candidate fully intended to attend.

Candidates experiencing a documented emergency may request special consideration. Examples may include:

  • Hospitalization or serious illness;
  • Death or serious illness within the immediate family;
  • Mandatory evacuation or an officially declared emergency;
  • Military activation;
  • Jury service or a court-ordered appearance; or
  • Another serious and unavoidable event supported by documentation.

Emergency requests must be submitted in writing as soon as reasonably possible and must include documentation showing why the candidate could not attend or complete the scheduled course.

When an emergency is reasonably documented, Blu Street Academy will ordinarily allow the candidate to transfer the enrollment to another available course date. Depending on the course and the amount of instruction missed, the candidate may be required to restart the course to satisfy Florida Real Estate Commission attendance and completion requirements.

Emergency Refund Review

A candidate experiencing an exceptional documented emergency may request a refund review.

Refund requests are evaluated individually. Approval is not automatic or guaranteed. Blu Street Academy may consider:

  • When the emergency occurred;
  • Whether the request was submitted promptly;
  • How much of the course was attended or accessed;
  • Whether materials or digital resources were delivered;
  • Expenses already incurred for the enrollment; and
  • Whether a course transfer provides a reasonable resolution.

When a refund is approved, Blu Street Academy may deduct the value of materials, resources, instruction already received, and disclosed nonrecoverable expenses associated with the enrollment.

Circumstances That Do Not Normally Qualify for a Refund

The following ordinarily do not qualify for a refund:

  • Failure to attend or a no-show;
  • Work schedule changes;
  • Vacation or travel conflicts;
  • Transportation problems;
  • Failure to review the course schedule;
  • Failure to meet attendance requirements;
  • Removal from class for misconduct or examination violations;
  • Failure to pass a course or licensing examination;
  • Failure to complete assignments or course requirements;
  • Personal technology problems during a live-stream course; or
  • A decision that the candidate no longer wishes to pursue a real estate license.

Blu Street Academy may still consider a timely transfer request when permitted under this policy.

Courses Started or Partially Completed

After a candidate begins attending the course, accesses substantial digital course content, receives restricted course materials, or takes an examination, the enrollment is nonrefundable except when Blu Street Academy approves an exceptional documented-emergency request.

A transfer does not allow Blu Street Academy to waive Florida Real Estate Commission attendance, instructional-hour, examination, or course-completion requirements. Depending on the course and the amount of instruction missed, the candidate may be required to begin the course again.

Uncontrollable Emergencies and School Rescheduling

Blu Street Academy reserves the right to postpone, reschedule, relocate, or temporarily suspend a course when circumstances outside the school’s reasonable control make the scheduled delivery unsafe, unavailable, or impractical.

These circumstances may include:

  • Hurricane watches or warnings;
  • Tropical storms or severe-weather advisories;
  • Mandatory or recommended evacuations;
  • Flooding, tornadoes, fires, or other natural disasters;
  • Government orders or public-safety restrictions;
  • Power, internet, or utility outages;
  • Unsafe road or facility conditions;
  • Unexpected building closures;
  • Serious instructor emergencies; or
  • Other events that Blu Street Academy could not reasonably prevent or control.

The safety of candidates, instructors, and staff will guide the school’s decision. Blu Street Academy may reschedule a class even when the classroom itself has not been damaged if weather advisories, travel conditions, emergency-management recommendations, or other credible safety concerns make attendance unsafe or unreasonable.

Candidates will be contacted as soon as reasonably possible after a rescheduling decision is made. Notices may be sent through the email address, telephone number, text-message number, learning platform, or other contact information provided during enrollment.

Candidates are responsible for keeping their contact information current and reviewing school communications when severe weather or another emergency may affect the course schedule.

When a course is rescheduled because of an uncontrollable emergency:

  • The candidate’s enrollment will automatically transfer to the replacement date;
  • No additional tuition will be charged for the replacement session;
  • Blu Street Academy will make reasonable efforts to provide as much notice as circumstances permit;
  • The candidate will receive the revised schedule and attendance instructions; and
  • Any replacement instruction will continue to follow applicable FREC course-hour, attendance, and completion requirements.

A reasonable emergency rescheduling does not constitute a course cancellation and does not automatically create a right to a refund.

If the replacement date creates a documented hardship, the candidate may request transfer to another available date for the same course. Blu Street Academy will make reasonable efforts to accommodate the request, subject to course availability and FREC requirements.

Cancellation by Blu Street Academy

If Blu Street Academy cancels a course and cannot provide a reasonable replacement date, the candidate may choose:

  1. Transfer of the full tuition paid to another available course; or
  2. A refund of the tuition paid for the canceled course.

A course is not considered canceled when Blu Street Academy reasonably:

  • Reschedules the course because of severe weather or another uncontrollable emergency;
  • Replaces an instructor;
  • Relocates the class to another suitable facility;
  • Adjusts the schedule while preserving the approved instructional hours; or
  • Uses another approved delivery arrangement that complies with applicable FREC requirements.

Blu Street Academy will communicate any material scheduling or delivery change as soon as reasonably possible.

How to Submit a Request

Transfer, emergency, and refund-review requests must be submitted in writing to:

Email: ______________________________________________
Telephone: __________________________________________
Mailing Address: _____________________________________

The request should include:

  • The candidate’s full name;
  • Course name and scheduled dates;
  • Date of payment;
  • Reason for the request;
  • Requested resolution; and
  • Supporting documentation, when applicable.

Submitting a request does not guarantee approval. Blu Street Academy will communicate its decision in writing.

Enrollment Acknowledgment

By completing enrollment, I acknowledge that:

  • I reviewed the course dates, times, format, and attendance requirements before paying;
  • My enrollment and access to course resources may begin immediately after payment;
  • Course purchases are generally nonrefundable;
  • A course transfer may be available when requested according to this policy;
  • Documented emergencies are reviewed individually;
  • Emergency refunds are not automatic or guaranteed;
  • A transfer does not waive FREC attendance or course-completion requirements;
  • Blu Street Academy may reschedule a course because of hurricanes, severe-weather advisories, safety concerns, facility closures, or other uncontrollable emergencies;
  • I will be contacted as soon as reasonably possible when a course is postponed or rescheduled;
  • A reasonable emergency rescheduling does not automatically qualify as a course cancellation or create a right to a refund; and
  • If Blu Street Academy cancels the course and cannot provide a reasonable replacement date, I may choose a transfer or refund.
